Ms. Michelle

Hi there!

I’m super excited to be at Cooper Academy again for the 2020- 2021 school year! I have worked with preschool aged students for more than fourteen years and going on year Eighth in the public school system. I have a bachelor's degree from East Carolina University and many years later obtained a Licensure Only in BK (Birth through Kindergarten). Arrgh! Go Pirates!

I spend my days at Cooper Academy doing what I love; laughing, learning, and having fun alongside our youngest learners. My personal teaching philosophy is based on children being competent and capable drivers of their learning. I am very passionate about providing an environment where children feel confident and secure.

I find the early years to be such an exciting time in a family’s life and I truly enjoy sharing the many trials and triumphs that we all experience as parents. I have three wonderful children; Brannon, who’s 20, Christian is 18, and Taylor is 16. I also have a pretty amazing husband, Carlos. Clayton has been our home for the past 21 years.

Thank you for welcoming me into your child's life and heart! I cannot wait to meet them!
