Mrs. Meredith Clawson
Hello Friendly Frogs!
My name is Meredith Clawson and I will be your child's Kindergarten teacher this year. This will be my 22nd year teaching, all of which have been at Cooper. I graduated from UNCW in 1999 with a BA in Elementary Education and obtained my master's degree from Campbell University in 2005. I have taught first grade, second grade, and this will be my 8th year teaching Kindergarten. I am married to Rusty Clawson, who is the Street Supervisor for the Town of Clayton. We have 2 children, Ally (17) who will be a senior at Clayton High School this year and Colby (15) who will be a sophomore at Clayton High, both of which attended Cooper. My kids keep me busy with horseback riding, soccer, and spending time with friends. We have 2 horses, a cat named Ollie, and a very spoiled Blue Heeler puppy named Suede. Teaching has always been my passion and first love and I cannot wait to meet your precious kids. This year is going to be awesome and your child will be in great hands each day! We are going to have a fabulous time leaping into learning at Cooper Academy! My door is always open and I welcome any questions or concerns that you may have!
